The following is
included with a single-room installation:
- All customers renting townhouses,
apartments, condo's, etc., will need to provide the
installer written permission from the landlord prior
to installation.
- Completion of a site survey with
customer's permission.
- Planning the installation with
the customer (cable routing, antenna location,
connection of devices and discussing future
options).
- Notification to customer of any
additional (nonstandard) charges prior to
commencement of any work.
- Properly routing and aligning an
18 inch dish satellite antenna with dual output LNB.
- Routing and properly attaching up
to 125 feet of quality RG6 cable.
- Cable routing through one
exterior and one interior wall.
- Grounding to meet Local/NEC
requirements.
- Installation of one DIRECTV
System IRD (receiver).
- Connection to an active telephone
line within twenty-five (25) feet, capable of
dialing out.
- Tuning the antenna alignment to
peak performance.
- Completion of a system test
verifying signal strengths, access card match, and
telephone connectivity.
- Connection of VCR (if
applicable).
- Cleaning up any mess made during
installation and removing debris from the customer's
residence.
- Activation of DIRECTV programming
with the customer on the phone.
- Customer education on system
operation and features.
- Leaving installation company name
and telephone number with the customer, enabling
them to contact the installation
- contractor directly if there are
any problems with the installation.
Add these steps for each additional
receiver purchased:
- Routing and properly attaching
quality RG6 cable to second TV (within 125 feet as
described above).
- Installation of second DIRECTV
Receiver to second TV.
- Connection of second DIRECTV
Receiver to the same active telephone line within
twenty-five (25) feet, capable of dialing out.
- Connection of VCR (if
applicable).
NON-STANDARD INSTALLATION FEES:
Additional work is payable directly to the installer at
time of installation. Prices will fluctuate due to
circumstances from one installer to another. The prices
below are an average and should be used as a guideline
only. Here are some of the most common scenarios:
- Cable burial up to 100 feet -

- Attic/Crawl Space - By Quote
- Extra TV hook up (no wall
fishing, no DIRECTV receiver) - Approx. $50-75
- Wall fishing - Approx. $45 per
hour
- Ground pole installation -
Approx. $75
- Chimney mount - Approx. $45
- Connection of co-located devices
(existing surround sound, DVD, video games, etc.) -
Approx $5-$25
- 40 foot ladder charge for
installs that are applicable - Approx $40
You agree that each of the above
installation points are acceptable. You also agree that
any variances from a standard professional installation
(outlined above) will be your financial responsibility.
As stated above, this fee (if any nonstandard
installation work is required) will be discussed with
you by the contractor prior to installation. Also, you
understand that each DIRECTV Receiver must be connected
to a landline phone connection. These receivers must be
connected to a phone line; however, they will never
interfere with your telephone connection and will allow
you to operate your telephone normally. No additional or
new phone line is needed. |
